Albatron GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB reviewHello everyone, today a review from the good people over at Albatron.  A company that has been under pressure a little the past two years yet is little by little getting back on it's feet with a new business model. That new model certainly does seem to pay off, and good for them as their products always have been awesome. Today we'll be reviewing Albatron's GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB. There have been two product releases in the past few months that offer staggering performance for the money you pay for it. The first being the 8800 GT and the second a GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB. Albatron is a board partner for NVIDIA, and so they lined up this product as well. And what a good choice that is.

NVIDIA released a re-spin graphics card based on the same G92 chip as that GT. That's the new model GeForce 8800 GTS the one with 512MB of memory.

Now, I agree the NVIDIA product line up in the GTS series is confusing. If we merely look at the GTS models, we have the 320MB version with 96 shader processors, a 640 MB model with 96 processors, then there's the overclocked versions and now even cheaper than that 320MB model a 512MB GTS yet with actually 128 shader processors. My advise to you is you can officially skip the 320MB and 640 MB models as the all new GTS 512 MB models are based on the newer G92 (better) based 65nm silicon, which is nearly as fast as a 768 MB GTX and is priced pretty darn competitively. We've already seen these things sell for 219 USD, which is just an amazing price.

Over the next pages we'll dive into the technology called G92, which is powering that 8800 GTS 512MB, we'll look at the card stripped naked in a photo-shoot, then fire off a nice round of benchmarks at the cards top see how they perform and where they stand among the rest of the 8 series products. Let's startup this review.
