KFA2 (Galaxy) GeForce GTX 470 review

Galaxy KFA2 GeForce GTX 470

KFA2 GeForce GTX 470 one very spicy Karte for Action alright

When the GeForce GTX 470 and 480 were released by NVIDIA back in March, people really stared themselves blind at the thermal issues with these graphics cards. The GF100 GPUs seated onto these graphics cards get hot, very hot due to the fact that they have nearly 3 billion transistors embedded on it. Performance wise people definitely acknowledged that there are no issues, but the thermals is a bit of a lackluster alright. That heat also translated physically into to a very noisy product, and that makes people look for alternatives .. as these day, we want the best and only the best.

Some AIBs out there figured that they can design a better solution then what NVIDIA is offering. As such we slowly started seeing announcements from names like Plait, Galaxy and others recently that as stated where working on custom PCBs and customized coolers to make the GeForce GTX series 400 much more attractive products.

The most extreme example definitely comes from the premises of Galaxy Technology, they have released a new series graphics card under the label KFA2 (Karte For Action 2). KFA2 is Galaxy's premium line of graphics cards, keep an eye and an ear out for that as this really will be an interesting brand.

Anyway, they completely overhauled the graphics card and literally, the only thing that was not changed is the actual GPU. With a plethora of new features they reintroduce their GeForce GTX 470 which is smaller, produces less heat, makes less noise and even comes (at default) with a bit of an overclock. These are just some of the key features of a product that will definitely catch a lot of attention as the overall design alone is also breathtaking.

Have a peek at what Galaxy has to offer after which we'll head on over to the next page where we'll startup an in-depth review.
