MSI RadeoN HD 5770 HAWX

First up, the photo-shoot. Okay, this is the part where we move away from the technical stuff for a minute and move on to the product photo-shoot followed by initial tests on heat, power consumption and noise levels.

We'll start off with the packaging and bundle, MSI's bundle is a little sober really. You need to seek the extra's in the card itself. You'll receive:

  • One fine Radeon HD 5770 with 1024MB GDDR5 memory
  • DVI to VGA Dongle x 1
  • Crossfire bridge x 1
  • Manual
  • Driver CD
  • Voltage minitor point headers
  • AfterBurner Overclock software

So as you can see, here we have the HAWK Radeon HD 5770 as supplied by MSI. Quite a charming fellah to look at really. Nice black PCB, cool looking cooler with two 80mm fans and some nice connectivity.

The Radeon HD 5000 series will obviously also be CrossfireX compatible, you could hook up one or even two more of these cards and go really nuts. Typically we however do recommend you to not use more than two GPUs, as drivers wise you'll quickly run into problems, let alone performance scaling becomes very inefficient.

To your right you can see the one Crossfire connector covered by a small blue clip.
