PowerColor Radeon HD 5770 PCS+ review

The Verdict

So overall the PowerColor HD Radeon 5770 PCS+ certainly is a nice performing card. If you can find it priced not to steeply then you'll gain a lot of fun and performance from it and yeah, it comes stacked with features alright. The custom cooler is not necessarily better than the reference one in both performance and noise levels, what we like very much though is the integration of two DVI connectors, one HDMI and one DisplayPort connector, your bases are covered.

The out of the box performance, thanks to a diminutive overclock on both the GPU and memory, brings in a little extra bite, overall the product will perform slightly better opposed to the reference product. And sure, we like that -- albeit we would have liked to see a really extensively overclocked Radeon 5000 series card for a change.

The performance is there, the features are there and PowerColor also throws in a download coupon for Colin McRae DiRT 2, brining some more value to the package. Most of today's games can be played in resolutions up-to 1920x1200 with high image quality settings enabled and at the very least with 4xAA to get rid of any nasty jaggies.

If you can find the Radeon HD 5770 PCS+ 1024MB at say 165-175 USD then we can wholeheartedly recommend this product to you. There are just no real negatives and for the money it's just a downright nice little card to play your game up-to say, 1920x1200 with. Don't forget, being a series 5000 product you will also have DX11 compatibility with very decent Tesselation performance and you'll also reap the benefits of multi-monitor support through Eyefinity.

The PowerColor Radeon HD 5770 PCS+ as such comes very much recommended.
