The Verdict
The Series 5600 cards will obviously be targeted at a very specific audience, 90% of this websites reader base will very likely not opt this card purely due to sheer game performance alone but at sub 100 USD the card definitely surprised us. The more common titles will definitely allow such games to be played at a monitor resolution 1600x1200 with a fairly interesting set of image quality settings like AA and AF. With the most modern once, you likely will have to forfeit on image quality a little.
So yeah, gaming wise it isn't bad really, the 5670 cards are priced decent enough and you have been able to see what two can do in Crossfire. For the money the Radeon HD 5670 therefore will not dishearten. You'll have plenty of options in monitor connectivity, noise levels are kept under decent control and sure power consumption is at an all-time low.
Overclocking - as you have been able to see we didn't include any. We had a weird driver issue that would down clock the card again to reference clocks the minute we overclocked it. So once that bug is squashed we'll likely post a little extra overclocking article as typically tweaking with budget cards always brings the very best results.
The Radeon HD 5760 is ideal for the lady's and gents that play games occasionally in a non-extreme way. It suits the regular PC user that that a lot of desktop work, or uses his/her PC as net or work PC. Next to that, and we have mentioned this several times now, the 5600 card series will be an excellent product for HTPCs. The sheer shader units count the GPU has embedded on it makes it very suitable for 1080P content playback with software like Media Player HT edition, in that software you can utilize and enable the shaders to post process image quality to a higher level. Next to that the embedded video processor (through UVD 2.0) will easily decode and accelerate your BluRay movies over the GPU. We can't wait to see some products with even more silent customized cooling.
What ATI once again offers is a very decent graphics card that is feature rich, versatile and yet again is the first bringing a DX11 class product to the another market segment, budget. We do hope to see the price drop a little more to say 75 to 80 USD for this product to make complete sense as we do feel the price is a little on the high side for what it is. On that topic for 90 EUR / 125 USD you can pick up a Radeon HD 5750 and that card does offer much more performance.
But props to ATI, their mission was to cock-block the similar priced GeForce GT 240 in both performance and feature set, they absolutely succeeded doing that.
Bottom Line: if your budget is below 100 USD, and all you do is occasionally play a game at a monitor resolution of say 1280x1024 to 1600x1200, watch movies often and do a lot of desktop work then we can wholeheartedly recommend the Radeon HD 5670. The card packs plenty of performance and features and it will surprise you in that fashion -- in a good way.
