 Thermalright Venomous-X review

Thermalright Venomous X CPU cooler

Thermalright Venomous-X

Hey ya'll -- today a new CPU cooler review, this time around from the fine gentlemen at Thermalright. Recently they introduced a new CPU cooler that is supposed to be the follow-up of the ever so popular Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme cooler series which, if memory serves me right, was released in 2007 already.

For the new design coolers Thermalright adjusted their focus to three primary improvements; the new coolers need to be easy to install, maintain supreme thermal cooling performance and last but not least, aesthetics... it should be a good looking cooler.

After some R&D Thermalright came up with a new design, still very close to the Ultra 120 Ex, and this is the product we'll be testing today, it's the Thermalright Venomous-X CPU cooler. A cooler with great looks, excellent performance and some very clever innovations. A cooler that is compatible with Intel LGA sockets 775, 1156, and 1366. And yes, your assumption is correct, for whatever reason this cooler does not cater for the AMD platform whatsoever.

On the bright side, the cooler is ready for the upcoming Nehalem Gulftown based processors (six-core) and also comes with something new, called the 'Pressure Vault Bracket'. Allowing you to decide how much pressure the cooler should have on top of that expensive processor of yours.

All in all we've got plenty to look and talk about, have a peek and then head onwards into the review.
