Zalman MS1000-HS2 review

When we flip the chassis sideways (you'll notice that simplicity kicks in again, no see through side-panels or anything. In fact simple lines and nicely rounded curves again. The inside of the left panel has actually been fitted with an insulation material to tone down noise levels. Unfortunately enough the right side does not have that coating.

All the way of the rear side we can see a fairly standard layout for a mid-tower. PSU placement is at the bottom, which is better for cooling. The chassis is optimized for good airflow which we'll show you in a minute, you'll also find two grommet holes for liquid-cooling tubing. Notice how wide the chassis is ? That's going to help us with cable management as well.

Going to the top we find a small hatch, behind it front panel connectivity for audio, USB (x2) and an e-SATA port. Also a tiny reset button is found here. Just below the hatch we can see the power switch.

Interesting detail, at the top side we can see this huge mesh, underneath it you could install two 120mm fans or a radiator for liquid cooling. The nice part is that it comes with a removable and washable dust filter. By removing two screws on the rear you can take out the plastic grill and then the dust filter, very handy.
